Origins of Saluna

His mother spotted him come back while doing laundry, "Benjamin? You're back early."

Benjamin-smiled* I got something rather quick....I got a bear

"Goodness! You didn't get hurt did you?"

Benjamin-No I got a nice clean shot to it's neck...and I waited with another arrow ready but it bled out

"You worry me so. But you did well." she smiled coming to look at the wagon, "Must have been a big beast." she said in awe.

Benjamin-yeah....this...this will make things a bit easier for a bit huh?

She smiled, she kissed his cheek, "You are too good."

Benjamin-smiled* do you need any help mother?

"If you could help clear the front of the store with your brother, that would be good." she smiled, "I'll be done with the laundry soon."

Benjamin-I'll head in and sweep *He smiled*

Samuel was inside and wiping the front table down, "Hey, you're back early."

Benjamin-I got a bear...managed to take it down with out having to give chase

"Whoa...that was good luck." he said, "...the mayor came by again." he sighed.

Benjamin-I'll be around for a little bit, so I'll keep an eye out for him

"He's getting too brave." he said to his brother.

Benjamin-hmm (I could always ask Saluna for advice on that) Don't worry buddy I'll figure something out, will just take some time

That evening, Saluna had arrived back to her cottage she share with her mother. In speaking of which, her mother was stirring a pot of nettle and rabbit stew when she arrived home, "My daughter...where did you run off to?" she asked her, "I swear you've been staying out longer and longer." she said icing her hands on her apron, "Just went looking around with the Spiders." she gave a cheeky smile, "I know you are seeing a hunter boy. Don't be reckless." she said sternly.

"I'm careful mother." she said, coming over to help prepare the rest of dinner.

Benjamin-had finished the cleanup of the front of the store* I'll head back and do the Kitchen area...then I'm going to go wash up

"Sure, I'll lock the door and move the rest of the bread to the back room."

Benjamin-headed for the Kitchen and started cleaning up, looking around* she was very busy.....glad we got that bear, that'll get us more supply

His bother came back with the last of the leftover bread, "He's the last of it." he said, "But what can we do with the bear?" he asked his brother. Then their mother came in with the empty basket, "MANY things my son. He fat can be made into soap a candle burner, the meat for drying, stewing and smoking and the pelts can be made into a cloth, a rug or jacket., plus the claws can be used for other little ways."

Benjamin-and the stuff we can't do, other members of the village will, and they pay a very good price for it, thus giving us some extra money to work with

"And that's why a good sized animal like this is good money." she smiled, "And good good for storing."

Benjamin-we'll be good for a good while but I might head out hunting again in a few days see if I can keep us ahead of it.

"No rush dear. I need help in getting this animal distributed to the butcher, the tanner and the tavern tomorrow." she said.
