Kaj-wasn't going to try and spook them and just stayed still

The horse then got next to him and just laid down on the straw and let out a deep sigh of relaxation.

Kaj-gently put his head on it's side and got comfortable* hello there

It didn't stir or mind that he was leaning against him.

Kaj-closed his eyes comfortable and slept through the night*

The peak of first light had come and the old man came out to look for Kaj. Looking into the barn he was a little surprised to see the boy laying against his horse, "Jesper, you've grown soft?" he asked the horse, who just looked at him with a grunt.

Kaj-was exhausted and slept the entire night, Jasper was warm and kept him warm the entire night, he didn't hear the hold man come in

He came over and nudged his boot, "Oi, wake up boy, time to work."

Kaj-slowly opened his eyes then snapped awake and jumped up straight and at attention* Yes Headmistre......uh....*he looked around*

He sighed, ".........well, come on." he said, leading to the back of the barn to the woodpile, "Here. Axe is there. Once you get a pile half your height I'll give you other chores." he said.

Kaj-nodded and grabbed the ax* ok...half my height *he started to start chopping, he was pretty strong and good with an ax, able to split the wood in 2 or 3 swings

The old man watched from a distance now and then, making sure he wasn't slacking, luckily he found he kept his word in being good at chopping. But he went inside to start making some food. Then the goats came out of the barn and got nibbling on the grass nearby, but they made way for Jasper when he came slowly clopping out and he came over to Kaj and Nudged him on his back.

Kaj-oh...he...hello again *he smiled at Jasper* I have one more to cut so you might want to move back a bit I don't want you getting hurt

The horse moved off a little bit, the big animal waited for him to finish, his long black tail swishing about a bit.

Kaj-came down and broke the wood and piled it up all done and he put the ax next to the chopping block* I'm all done...I...I guess I should go ask about the chores

The old man came out, "Come on, get something to eat." he said, "Just wash up."

Kaj-started to head over to a place to quickly wash up and headed into the house* I finished the wood sir

"I see that. Get in here." he said he had some millet porridge made with a little bit of butter on top along with some stewed apples. "Eat up." he said, "Once you're done eating I'll give you other chores." he sat at the table, "Well? Sit down then."

Kaj-sat down and looked at how much he was getting and looked at the old man then started to dig in, eating a lot pretty fast*

"Oi slow down, you'll get sick." he said, "Easy boy, you're not gonna starve." he said, eating his porridge slowly.

Kaj-swallowed what he had and took a few breaths* sorry it's...I've never had so much

".....DO they not feed you at that orphanage?" he perked an eyebrow.

Kaj-not every day...and not a lot....only enough to get us by

"Damn....not much money or...they just don't care?" he poured some goat milk into a goblet for him.

Kaj-...the grownups have more then enough for themselves....most of the donations go to them...and if anyone tries to speak up...punishment
