Blood & Books

Roku chuckled, "COem on you lot, I've just got to make toast and we're good." said ROku, he had bacon already cooked along with fried eggs under some tinfoil and plates, along with mushrooms cooked with butter and garlic, "ALMOST a total english breakfast." he joked a little.

"FAR from it." said Kaidan, "You're missing the sausages, grilled tomatoes and baked beans."

"I said ALMOST didn't I?" chuckled ROku, "Please take a seat I'll bring it all over." he said to the girls. Kaidan decided to help him bring stuff over and got some orange juice out of the fridge.

"You came prepped." said Kaidan to Roku, "Natsuki and I like to be prepared, so we went grocery shopping before attending yesterday."

"It smells good, love." Natsuki walked around the bar into the kitchen to prepare herself a cup of coffee. She REALLY needed it. She stood beside Roku and kissed his cheek to thank him for the meal.

Delilah smiled as she watched the two love birds. "Want a cup of coffee, Delilah?" "I'm ok. I already had one. My agent would kill me if she knew I was indulging." She chuckled.

"Agent?" asked Kaidan as he brought over the bacon plate, "You famous or something?" he asked.

"Famous? Hardly." She laughed. She took a piece of bacon and started eating it immediately. "I not famous at all. I have no desire to be. I just do some modeling for a small company to help pay my tuition here."

Natsuki was poring cups full of juice for everyone. "You're a model too?! You are like the perfect woman or something." She said as she brought over the juice cups.

"You are too kind, but I am far from perfect. I am just trying to help my grandfather pay my tuition. He is retired and doesn't have a lot of extra money to be spending on me."

"I see. Makes sense to pay your way through college as well as to feed yourself." said Kaidan. "WHihc is why I want to the Night time job." he said, "I've sent and application to that club last night before bed."

"WHoa...eager huh?" chuckled Roku, eating some eggs with bacon.

"Yeah, but my grandfather still insists on sending me money at least twice a month for food even though I am fine on my own." She said as she took a bite of an egg. "Mm, this is delicious, Roku. Thank you for inviting us to breakfast."

"Yes it is delicious. You out did yourself." Natsuki agreed.

"Though it must be tough having to work and go to school full time." She said to Kaiden and Delilah.

"I'm use to it. I have had a job of some kind since I was sixteen. I wanted to help my grandfather in any way possible." She said.

"I figured it would be good for us all to be good friends since we're neighbours...and because I still want to see Natsuki through our time here." smiled Roku.

Kaidan was silent while eating his food, which he was really going at that bacon and toast.

"Hungry?" chuckeld Roku to his roommate, "Wouldn't YOU be?" he asked in return.

"You are so nice. Thank you. I do hope all of us can be friends." Delilah said with a happy smile. She looked over at Kaiden sitting beside her who was chowing down.

"No one is going to take it from you. Just take it easy." She said touching his shoulder and chuckling.

"I like a man with a hearty appetite." Natsuki said teasingly. Delilah wiped around and looked at her. "Natsuki!"

"What? I'm just being honest." She said as she stabbed her egg and broke open the yolk.

"I know that, but I like bacon." he said eating another piece.

"I think with how you are hogging it slightly, I think its MORE Than like." Roku chuckled.

Kaidan gave him a dry look and continued to eat.

Natsuki and Delilah both laughed. "Men love their bacon." Natsuki said before taking a bite of her eggs.

"Indeed they do." Delilah agreed. Delilah finished her meal first and stood up to go clean off her plate and wash it. She also decided to indulge a bit and have one more small cup of coffee.

"So do you all have plans for today?" She said turning around mixing her coffee.

Kaidan took a swig of juice, "I'm going to look around campus to get a feel about the place...you know get my barings." he said.

"Agreed, that would be wise." Said Roku, "Natsuki did you want to join me with that?" asked Roku.

Natsuki smiled, "Of course. I'd love to go. But I feel bad leaving Delilah all by herself."

"Oh, don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I can maneuver on my own." She said throwing away her coffee stirrer and taking a sip to test the flavor.

"Why don't you and Kaiden go together?" Natsuki suggested.

"No, I don't want to impose on him. I'll be fine by myself." She said.

"I'm fine if you want to walk around with me." Said Kaidan, "We both have classes we we both need to go to...it best we BOTH go look around then." said Kaidan.

"If it fine with you, then I would love to walk around with you." She smiled. "I didn't get the chance to come for the orientation so I don't really know where anything is on campus yet."

"Well, that's settled." Natsuki said as she finished her juice. "Since you cooked, love. Delilah and I will clean up." She said to Roku and gathered her plate.

"Sure. It's the least we can do since you invited us over." She said and took the dishes from Natsuki and started to wash them.

After breakfast, they all went along to go explore the campus. Natsuki and Roku went one way, while Kaidan and Delilah went the other, looking around for their class rooms so they knew where it all was tomorrow when they time came and what not.

They labs were fascinating and the library was HUGE.

Delilah's eyes lit up when she saw the size of the labs and the library. It was a treat for her to be able to learn in such a facility.

"I have never seen a library so big!" She said trying her best to be quiet as not to disturb the other students that were there. She went to one of the best high schools where she lived, but it was very small and was short on necessities for its students.

"This is bigger than the library we have back ho-" he cut his sentence short, "I mean....never mind." he was trying to make it be nothing.

Delilah was walking down the aisle full of medical textbooks and science books her eyes still lit up from seeing so many books on shelves almost as high as the ceiling.

"Hmm, what was that?" She asked looking up from a book she was about to pull from the shelf.

"Nothing just talking to myself." he said. "But this library is impressive." he added on, looking at a few of the books as well.

"...Don't they give us a list of the text books we need?" he asked.

Delilah ignored his supposed conversation with himself and took one of the books off the shelf. She stood up and wrapped the book in her arms.

"They will give us a list on the first day of class and we can get them from here or the university book store. I hope I can find some used copies in here. I don't want to buy new ones. Medical textbooks are not cheap." She sighed very worried about her financial situation. Now that she was in school she couldn't do as many modeling gigs as she could over the summer, so she had to keep the purse strings tight.

She looked up and saw another book on a high shelf that she wanted to bring down. Even in her high heels she wasn't tall enough to reach it. She stood on her tip toes trying her hardest to reach it, but it was just out of her reach.

Kaidan sighed seeing her struggling to get the books she needed and he came over and got that one she was try for, "This One?" he asked her.

Delilah suddenly felt warmth at her back and saw Kaiden's long arm reach over her and grab the book she was trying to reach. His face was at the back of her neck, so close that she could feel his breath on her neck. His hand grazed her momentarily as he pointed out the book she was trying to reach. Her heart began to race a bit and her cheeks blushed a soft pink color.

"Yes...that's the one." She lowered herself back down from her tiptoes and let him get the book down for her.

"Just ask if you need a hand okay?" he said as he got a couple other books that might be needed.

He paused seeing her blushing, "You feeling alright?" he asked her.

"Thanks..." She took the book from him and held it in her arms tightly. She bit her lip when he noticed her blushing.

"I'm fine...it's just a little warm in here that's all." She lied. "I'm going to walk around to the other side to see what is on that shelf. Come find me when you're done." She quickly walked around the other side and sighed heavily.

"Geez, what was that all about? Why am I getting embarrassed all of a sudden around him? I didn't feel that way when I was dancing with him last night." She bit her thumb nail nervously as she over analyzed the situation in her head. Thinking of how they danced together made her blush even more. "Grr...stop! I don't have time for this!" She scolded herself.

He blinked and sighed, "I hope she's alright..." he suddenly felt a little lightheaded, 'Fuck! I'v got to feed tonight.......' he thought, 'got to hold off until then.' he cursed and shocked his head to get rid of the dizziness.
