Origins of Saluna

"UNless you have something else to trade?" she giggled. "I'll be let letting you place through in safety as well, so that is TWO things you will need to trade." she wiggled two fingers in his face in a teasing manner.

Benjamin looked at her annoyed* and the second thing you want?

"You tell me handsome." she winked, "So a choice, would you like to leave today without the rabbits, or have the rabbits but find your own way?" she asked, "Your choice."

Benjamin-if I leave without a guide......will the spiders bother me?

"They might, but they are not the only creatures in these woods." she said with a smile, "Its up to you." she said lifting up one of the little sticks of fresh lavender.

Benjamin-noticed he had a few arrows left*...I can find my way *He handed her the knife* (mother needs these...I'll find away)

"Oooo brave choice." she handed him the Rabbits. "All yours. And if you do come back into the Haze, Just be more.....mindful.." She blew him a kiss and got walking away.

Benjamin-was confused but put them in his bag and headed out into the woods, ok...I can do this

She didn't even tell her name to him, the mysterious girl in purple and a basket of plants.

Benjamin-this was...a day *he sighed then looked up* I know this tree

Surprisingly he was able to get back and....quicker than he did entering the forest earlier that day.

Benjamin-sighed in relief and looked down* Still have the rabbits....ok....I"ll question everything later, get these home to mother

His mother had just closed the bakery for the night and was cooking dinner with the last of the wild board they had in the larder. Samuel came out to get water from the well out the back of the house and saw his brother coming back, "Ben!" he smiled, "You got something?"

Benjamin smiled* Two rabbits, it's not much but it'll get us through for a few days. The fur will sell pretty good

"A deer eh?" he joked and chuckled at him. "Five more you could have."

Benjamin-yeah yeah, it was slim picks out there ok, these were the only things I found.

"I gotta get the water, you go in." he said turning the winch.

Kimberly was setting the table an spooning some stew into the bowls and there was fresh little bread rolls form today as well and homemade butter from their one milking cow. "Ah you're back." she smiled.

Benjamin-smiled* yeah I managed to get two rabbits, though had to search for them.

"Its better than nothing." she smiled, "If you can skin those after dinner we'll hang them to dry a couple days and tan those furs." she said.

Benjamin-alright I'll be back" *He headed outside and went and grabbed a spare knife* good thing I kept this one *he started to gut and clean them*

After the the rabbits were gutted, skinned and cleaned the little family were sitting to dinner. "You might need to hunt again tomorrow honey." sighed Kimberly.

Benjamin-I know, I need to get something bigger, to do that I'll need to head further out.

"Then I suggest you do a day trip my son. I'll pack you some bread and dried fish and meat for you in the morning." she smiled.

Benjamin-thank you mother *He smiled* I promise to get something big

She smiled, "Just get what You can get my son." she said, "You do well."
