Kaidan & Delilah: Part 2

Lilah raised her head and looking into Kaiden's eyes with a smile, "Yes, we did." She touched his cheek and stroked his soft sweaty skin. "I'm curious...what made you decide to propose all of a sudden?" She asked.

"After being so close to death......I couldn't let the chance go by....plus I want YOU as my right-hand. I trust you more than anyone else." he said, kissing her.

"I'm honored..." She said kissing him back and snuggling closer to him. "I just know Vashti will be over the moon when she hears the news. She will want to make me a wedding dress more than likely." She chuckled. "Oh, right!" She turned over and reached onto the floor and picked up the dagger than Kaiden had left for her. "You can have this back now since you won't be leaving anytime soon." She smiled handing it over to him.

He smiled, "Of course. And OF COURSE with Vashti." he chuckled, "I love you." he kissed her again when she snuggled against him.

He blinked when reached for something, "......Keep it love. In case we get separated in any form, that you always have a part of me on you." he said, touching her face. "I will be getting my Lord weapons soon anyway." he said.

Lilah held the small dagger to her heart for a moment, "Thank you..." She put it down on the table beside their bed and laid back down beside Kaiden. "We should rest now. Tomorrow is going to require all our strength." She snuggled closer and kissed his cheek.

They relaxed for the rest of the night resting up and and bracing themselves for tomorrow and what it will bring them both.

Early the next morning, a few hours before dawn, Kaidan, Delilah and a few of the higher ranked guards, including Striker, had arrived to the Blood Palace again, but were escorted to a large dome-like building that was situated behind the palace. All the longer standing vampires, including Kaidan shuddered at the sight of the building. Kaidan held Lilah's hand firmly, he was worried, but kept his face as stoic as possible.

It was a somber morning for the entire clan. No one was looking forward to what was about to take place. The members wore their assassin uniforms as a sign of respect and honor to their previous leader. Lilah stood by Kaiden's side. She could feel his tight grip on her hand. She could see the pain behind his stoic expression. She squeezed his hand back and stayed by his side.

Soon enough, the executioners would bring Fallon in and put him in the center of the room and read the details of "his" crime to the clans before his executions was to take place. The room was filled with tension and masked sorrow as they waited for the event to begin.

Lord Fallon stood in the centre of the ground of the dome, he stood stoic faced and without fear, he looked to the stands and spotted Kaidan with Delilah at his side, he gave a small but sad smile, "Vita est vita. Et collocavit me super deos meos tier!" he spoke aloud, the hole dome heard his words, as the executioner came out with a sword made of blessed silver, even he was wearing gloves to not fully touch this weapon.

"Life for a Life......Let the gods set me on my Journey." Striker translated aloud then he knelt, along with his fellow assassin warriors and clansmen. Tears streaked down Kaidan's face but he kept stoic as he too, knelt with his clan.

By the councillors, High-Lord Bale then Knelt as well, he had differences with Fallon....but he had respect for him in a high regard.

Then with a swing of the blade, the executioner sliced off Fallon's head and then stabbed through his heart to finish it all. He pulled the blade out and the lifeless body and head fell to the ground, blood spilling out.

Delilah's eyes followed Fallon as he walked slowly toward the center of the dome surrounded by how clansman. Her hands began to shake and her heart was racing. She knew what was about to happen. Her eyes met with his one final time before he made his last declaration. Everyone in the room got down on their knees to show their respect for his noble sacrafice.

Delilah held her head low and flinched when she heard the sound of the sword being brought down and slicing through flesh. She raised her head slowly and saw his dismembered body. She covered her mouth and weaped silently embracing Kaiden to console him as well as hide her tears.

Kaidan hugged her when he stood again, he couldn't cry aloud while present here, he had to show leadership...which meant show his emotional strength as well. He was close to breaking but knew it wouldn't make a difference.

The body was collected and was sent outside to be impaled and to stand in the sun until it turned to dust. It was over and the clan was heading on to the caves to go on to start the funeral rights of their fallen leader.

Delilah dried her tears and put on a brave face. She knew that deep inside, Kaiden was distraught and ready to crumble. She kept her promise and remained by his side. Everyone was quiet and were in mourning. They showed their respect for their former leader.

Once she wasn't needed, Delilah took a break to go check on Scout. He was in Kaiden's room all alone. He needed to spread his wings a bit. Lilah took him to one of the greenhouses and let him fly around a bit. She was happy to have her companion by her side in this difficult time. She sighed as she looked around at the plants and herbs. They brought her a strange sense of comfort.

Once back to the clan caves, Kaidan went to Fallon's old study and remained in there...not wishes really to be disturbed and wanting time to be alone to let this all sink in and vent in private.

Striker sighed and made sure the clan was all good while Kaidan was incapacitated for the time being, understandably.

Lilah walked around the inside of the greenhouse enjoying the smells and watching Scout fly around. It wasn't the same as being outside, but it would have to do for now. Lilah sat down at the table and looked around at the vials and containers filled with ground herbs and oils. Instead of moping around, she decided to make something to help with Kaiden's tension. She walked around the greenhouse gathering the herbs and flowers she needed to make an essential oil blend.

In no more than an hour or so she was done. Scout had enough time to fly around and was probably hungry now. She whistled for him to come down so she could go fetch him some meat and a snack of her own.

Kaidan was still was in his uncle's study, not wanting to be disturbed. But Striker found Delilah coming out of the Greenhouse, "Escuse Delilah....but if you could me a favour and check on Kaidan....he's been in there for a while."

Lilah was almost to the pantry when she ran Striker walked up behind her and called to her. "Of course. I was about to go find him after I got some food for Scout. I'll make sure he is ok." She touched Striker's shoulder smiled before walking past him toward the study.

"Go on back to the room, little buddy. I'll bring you food soon. Kaiden needs me right now." She said to her feathered friend and watched him fly off down the hall. Soon enough, she was in front of a huge set of old fashioned wooden door that led to the study where Lord Fallon spent most of his time. She opened the door slowly trying not to make too much noise to startle him.

"Kaiden?" She walked in and closed the door behind her.

Kaidan was sitting in the old leather seat of his uncle's study and sighed, hearing some enter, "............Lilah?" he looked when he heard his name, "Hey love." he gave a sad smile.

Lilah approached Kaiden slowly and stood next to him. "Hey...Striker wanted me to check on you. How are you holding up?" She asked with her own sad smile. She was worried about him and wanted to do all she could to make him feel better.

".......I'm not surprised....I didn't want to be disturbed at this time. But I know I can't stay in here forever." he sighed aloud.

".............WHY.....I wish I could have talked him out of it!" he held his head in his hands.

Lilah moved closer to him and gently touched his back. "I'm sorry...I was worried about you too." She moved her hand up and down his back trying to comfort him and let him know she was there for him.

"I know..." She said softly not wanting to say too much to upset him. "If you want to be alone now, I can leave..." She said.

"No....No, i'm not angry love....I...I just didn't think i would take it this hard." he sighed, wiping his face, looking like a total mess.

Delilah turned the old leather chair so Kaiden was facing her. She got down on her knees in front of him and took his hands into her. "He was your uncle, Kaiden. He was the closest thing you had to a father growing up. Of course you would feel this way..." She reached up and touched his cheek gently.

He sighed, "..........We also argued a lot....which I Regret greatly now..." he said, "I...Need to have a bath and clean my face up, I must look a mess." he said.

Lilah took his hand and made him stand. "Come with me. I'll take you to the bathing chamber. I mixed something up for you that will help ease the tension a bit." She took out a small vial and handed it to him as they walked together.

He sighed and he went along with her to the bathing chamber. Striker saw them both come out and gave a sigh of relief seeing he came out, but allowed them to do what they needed on their own.

They arrived to the bathing chamber and got undressed, "What is this...answer to tension?" he asked her.

Once they were undressed, she took the vial and took Kaiden's hand. She walked into the water with him behind her. Once they were in the bath, she stood in front of him and opened the vial.

"It won't take the pain away...but it will help you relax a little bit." In the bottle, was a special oil made with Frankincense, Geranium, Bergamot, and Marjoram. She poured a little bit in her hands and rubbed them together to make it warm. She carefully touched his chest rubbed it in with love.
