Kaidan & Delilah: Part 2

He inhaled deeply the scent of the oil and he was just enjoying her touch at this time. "Mmmm.....My love...."

Lilah looked into his eyes and smiled. Her hands moved over his shoulders and down his arms slowly. "I know you don't like to smell all flowery, so I made sure to dilute the stronger scents as best I could..." She rinsed her hands and got a wash cloth to clean up his face. She touched his cheek with the warm cloth as gently as possible.

"At this point I don't care about that love....I'm just glad you are here with me at this point in time." he sighed, inhaling the scent with long drawing breaths and exhaling out.

"There is no other place I would rather be than here with you..." She said abandoning the wash cloth and touching his face with her hands. Her fingers moved over his forehead and down his cheeks. "I can't take the pain away...but I can bare the burden with you..."

"........Its more anger I feel..........I'm angry that a good man is no longer in this world." he said.

"I know..." She said with a sad face. Lilah couldn't help but feel that she was the source of his anger. She still believed it was her fault that Fallon was gone. But she knew saying so wouldn't make Kaiden feel any better. She looked into his eyes and saw the hurt and anger.

"I'm sorry, Kaiden." Was all she could think to say. She wrapped her arms around him and held him in an affectionate embrace wanting to be close to him.

He held her close to him, hugging her in return, "................I love you." he said.

"I love you too...." She said. Her arms wrapped around his back and rested on his shoulders. The scent from the oil filled her nose and helped to calm her as well. "I'm always here...you don't have to suffer on your own anymore..." She nuzzled her head against his chest and listened to the rhythm of his heart beat. "I promise..." She whispered.

He held her with him, "I know...."

5 months later....

After the Death of his Uncle, along with Delilah and Striker's help, Kaidan was able to pull himself back together and was not FULLY set as the Clan leader, the only thing left was him to be placed with the title of 'Lord' by the council....which meant MORE visits to the Blood Palace. Kaidan and Delilah had not revealed their planned of marriage yet, hoping to waiting another month before telling anyone else, but they now held the largest room in the clan dorms and Vashti was with Delilah with anything she needed attire wise or knowledge about life as a vampire. Which Kaidan al helped in to get her settle in her new life as much as possible.

Delilah was starting to become accustomed to her new life as a vampire living with her new clan and learning the ways of the dark world. True to her word, she remained by Kaiden's side through the lose of his uncle and helping him through the process of becoming the new clan leader. Kaiden was very busy these days preparing for his new role.

She and Striker were able to create an open space in and out of the underground hideout so Scout could come and go as he pleased when he needed to stretch his wings. It was still well hidden so their underground hideout would remain a secret from prying eyes. When Kaiden was busy with his duties, Striker would help her with her training.

Today was an off day for her so she decided to pay her donor Charles a visit. She had gotten much better about remembering when she needed to feed. The usual man greeted her and she asked for Charles as she usually did.

Charles still gave her her blood fix via a glass, but he did as she wished to feed, after all he was there to serve.

Meanwhile Striker was getting ready to attend to the Palace with Kaidan for his inauguration to Lord-status and he went on to see how Delilah was going, "Lilah.....you in?" he knocked on her door. Kaidan was washing up, so he wasn't in the room.

Lilah thanked Charles as always and gave him a warm goodbye as she went back to her room. She found Striker at the door knocking and saying her name. "Hey Striker. Did you need something?" She asked.

"Are you ready to go as soon as Kaidan is ready?" he asked her, "The Blood Palace will want us there on time." he sighed.

Lilah nodded, "Yes. I was just going to see Vashti. She insisted on making a special dress for me and fixing me up for the inauguration ceremony." She smiled. "I better hurry. She doesn't like to be kept waiting." She waved to Striker and hurried past him to go see Vashti.

She knocked on her door and walked inside. "I'm here Vasti! Sorry to keep you waiting." She closed the door and looked around in the mountain of dresses for her.

"There you are! I was about tot send one of my ladies to fetch you, we NEED to get dressed now!" she said, "Shoo shoo, to the change room."

"Alright! Alright! I'm going." She chuckled not realizing just how late it was. She hurried into the room and saw a beautiful formal gown hanging up for her.

"Wow, she really outdid herself." She stripped out of her clothes and got the dress on quickly. She stepped out of the changing room and walked over to Vashti. She needed a bit of help tying the corset in the back. "So, how does it look?" She asked.

She smiled, "You are stunning. The colours is VERY nice and elegant." he got the corset tied right and the other brought the dress over and got it attaching to the needed parts of the corset. Then got attaching jewels to the corset to finish the small touches.

They fixed her hair up, up but loose.

Kaidan meanwhile was out of the bath and getting dress with some male members of the clan helping his dress right.

"Thank you, Vashti. The gown is truly gorgeous." Lilah said. She stood in place and let Vashti and the girls put the finishing touches on her dress and fix up her hair. Once her make up was done she stood in front of the mirror barely recognizing herself. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. "Wow..."

"You've come a long way my dear." said Vashti as eh got her simple earrings on Lilah's ears, "There we are. You are ready. Kaidan should be ready soon, so I'll escort you to your room. Striker will be attending with her to the ceremony and I'll meet you at the Gala afterwards." she smiled.

".......I wonder which Councillor is holding it this time?" she wondered aloud.

"Thank you Vashti. I couldn't have made it this far with out your help as well as the others." She smiled and bowed to her respectfully. Once she was ready, she walked with Vashti back to her room.

"Oh, so a different council member hosts the inauguration ceremony?" She asked as they came to her door.

"Oh no. The ceremony is held in the Blood palace before the Councillor and other high members of each clan, to show the new leader and be witnesses. But after the ceremony, One of the high lords hold the gala for the new lord. The after party." Vashti explained, "But we do not know WHO it will be held with until after the inauguration."

"Oh, I see. I think Kaiden is nervous. He has been kinda fidgety the past few days..." She chuckled. "It is refreshing seeing this side of him that I never get to see." She smiled and walked over to her bed and sat down. "I can't wait to see you all dressed up Vashti. I know you will be stunning."

"You'll see when you see me." she winked, "For now, "Let's get to Kaidan."

They arrived tot he room and Kaidan just came out, all dressed in the finest attired, along with a long red cloak. He turned to See Delilah and he blushed, "......A sugar plum fairy?" he smiled

Lilah blushed and chuckled, "I will take that as a compliment. Vashti outdid herself yet again. You look so handsome and regal." She walked toward him and kissed his cheek.

"Luckily this will be the only REAL time to where this attire." he still felt weird dressing so finely.

"Kaidan we need to move along." Urged Striker.

"Yes yes...let's go then." he got Delilah's hand and they were on their way to the Blood Palace once again.
