My Butler's A Vampire!

"I can't wait to get started reading them. I do have a nasty habit of staying up all night reading. I may need you to keep me in check especially when I am out of school during the summer." She chuckled. "Really? Yes please, I would love to take a look at them!"

He smiled, "I can show them to you know if you so wish?" he motioned the way to the back of the library to a pair of doors that were locked. Pulling out the key from his pocket, Luthor unlocked, then opened the doors fully, "You first my lady, you are the first of your generation to enter this room." he smiled, motioning her to step on in as he turned the lights on, showing a smaller library section.

"All these books are from as far back as the first book press." he said, handing some cloth gloves for handling the delicate old books.

"Yes, I would love to see them now!" She followed Luthor to the back of the library to set of doors she hadn't noticed before. He took out a key and opened the doors. She stepped inside and the smell of very old books filled her nose. "How did grandfather get his hands on books as rare as these?" She asked. She got a pair of gloves on and went to one book that was on a podium and touched it gently.

"These were collected by your family through the generations....some are old family made books and some are original copies of other famous books in latin, german and greek as well." he said. He then got out one of the books, "This one is from the 1790's, the ladies guide to the house and kitchen." he chuckled, "To keep this running smoothly and recipes to please the palate...that sort of situation." he chuckled.

Stella walked over to Luthor and stood close beside him to look at the book he put on the table. It was indeed VERY old and in surprisingly good shape. "It's basically a how to guide for women on etiquette and how to properly maintain the household, correct?" She asked.

"Yes, there were many a guide like this for married ladies to follow by to keep everything in order and to keep the servants and kitchen in presentable shape." he said, "That was in the 18th century of course. Now a days are VERY much different." he chuckled a little. He then got a recipe book from the same era, "Tastes have changed too."

He showed one recipe of a pie that had ALL sorts of bits and piece that most would not eat these days. Rooster combs, chicken hearts, lamb/or calf kidneys, calf's liver and lamb heart. Luthor chuckled, knowing she would find that one very appealing.

Stella moved closer to Luthor, her shoulder brushing against him and her long braided hair dangling over her shoulder as she read a few of the passages. She sighed and chuckled a bit, "If this were still followed today, I would be a total failure as a lady and a wife." She joked. Stella was not the tidiest of ladies. Her collection of books and journals were always a mess and she had no idea how to organize them. She just kept them in a disorganized pile. Still, she knew where each one was. She might have been book smart, but she lacked the traits of a good house wife.

Stella's expression turned sour when he read of the ingredients of some of the recipes in the book. "Ugh...those sound horrible..."

"I will be fine to watch out of tidiness my lady." he chuckled. "But they were very different times then." he said, "SO so, everyone has their way about how they run their lives." he said.

He chuckled more at her expression, "From nose to tail My lady, nothing went to waste." he said.

Stella sighed, "It must be tiresome looking after someone like me. I'm sorry to be such a burden." She apologized. "I will try to be more ladylike for lack of a better term." She chuckled.

"Ok ok I get it! I get it!" She shook her head and scrunched up her face.

"No no, not at all My lady. Its my job and duty to watch over you." he smiled, "I do not seek to change your ways, but I'll assist if you wish to learn anything about the ways of the lady." he chuckled. He loved to teased her, her reactions were amusing.

"Ok, now I think you're just teasing me." She said giving him a suspicious look and crossing her arms.

"Well its amusing to tease the young about the old world recipes. Not many would know these recipes, due to them being....no longer of need or necessity." he said, "But I'de say don't react until you try it." he smirked, "And me a tease? Ohh I would never." he said factiously.

"You are so sly, Luthor. It is impolite to tease a lady. As your mistress, I should punish you." She teased back.

"Punish me?" he blinked, "Oh i don't think I've ever needed to be punished in all my years." he chuckled placing a book down on the pile, "And JUST how would do so?" he gave a look to her with a sneaky glint in his eye. "PLEASE tell me Mistress?" he asked with hands behind his back and walking up to her.

He usually didn't get the chance to tease with a lady, yet alone a lady that he was SUPPOSED to watching over, but the cheeky side of him couldn't help but get a little teasing towards her words.

Stella didn't mind him coming closer, she enjoyed this little game they were playing. "Hmm, I'm not quite sure. The punishment should fit the crime in this case. I think it's only fair that I tease you back..." She said closing the distance between them and whispering in his ear, "...Do you think that is fair?" She was curious to see how he would react.

He smirked, "Oh very much so." he got her hand, "Are familiar with eye for an eye?" he asked her, teasing her further, "I know I am. But for this, teasing is only a game." he chuckled. Then he suddenly got her in a waltzing position, and had the hand on her waist and everything, "But I know you blush from just being in a dance." he smirked at her. A sort of aura was coming off this butler but it was something that.....was strange, alluring and somewhat...dangerous.

"Why yes I am. It is the driving force in many good stories I have read, so I am familiar with the act of revenge." She said as he took her hand. He pushed their little game farther and pulled her into the waltz starting position, his hand at her waist and pulling her closer. Indeed, she became flustered and her cheeks grew red. "Y-you are quite devious..." She said, but he indeed got her. She looked into his eyes and felt a different sort of aura about him for a split second. "I guess you win...this time."

He smirked holding her in the position for a minute and chuckled, "I'll withdraw for now My lady." he let go of her but he still had of one hand and kiss it, "So I shall leave to your own devices and shall do my rounds Miss Stella." he smiled, still keeping the cheeky glint in his eyes as he left her alone.

Stella was left nearly speechless. Luthor pulled one over on her yet again. He was so mysterious in many ways. "Of course..." She sighed heavily once he was gone. "That Luthor. He is such a mystery." She gathered her books and headed back to her room for a bit of light reading before it was time for dinner.

A bit later, Luthor was making sure dinner was being set up and done on on time. he was in the wine cellar making sure to choose a good wine to have at dinner and for his Mistress to have a try of if she so wished, but always made sure to have choice beverages for anyone not into booze. He came out of the cellar, Mini came to him, "Luthor...have you been keep quiet?" she asked him.

"If by quiet you mean keep my hands to myself, then I'll say yes and no." eh said as he closed the door. "Please be cautious, the Young miss is not aware of anything yet...please be careful."

"I know Mini, I am VERY aware." he assured her gently. He then went on to the dining room to check over the table and setting with the maid doing so. He node in approval and he double checked the menu and went on to inform his Mistress. Then he paused as he was in the front lobby of the manor, and frowned. ".............I might need to double check the perimeter......" he paused again looking up at the top of the stairs, "Oh, good evening Mistress." he bowed.

Stella found a good place to stop in her book when she looked at her watch and saw that it was nearly dinner time. She placed the book on her desk and left her room to go downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, she bumped into Luthor. "Good evening, Luthor. And please, you don't have to call me mistress. If you must, please just call me Miss. Stella. Mistress makes me feel old." She chuckled. She noticed that he seemed a bit frantic and was moving faster than normal. "Is something wrong Luthor? You seem a bit flustered..."

"Forgive old Habits Miss Stella." he smiled, "Hm? Oh no, just noticed it might be getting a bit cloudy outside....i'm predicting a storm or rain." he said, "That weather makes me more cautious is all." he said. "But I was also on my way to inform you, dinner is about to be served."

"Shall we attend?" he smiled motioning her to come along.

As they attended to the dining hall, "Would you like to know what you are having tonight?"

"It's okay, Luthor. You were just being polite." She smiled. "You just have a sixth sense when it comes to such things." She chuckled. The two of them walked side by side toward the dinning room.

"Oh, yes please! What splendid meal did you plan for this evening?" She asked with excitement.

He smiled giving a small chuckle, "Thank you Miss Stella. As for dinner, We have a splendid French number. Boeuf Bourguignon with creamy mash potatoes. The Beef was from our family black angus beef cattle, vegetables, from our fine garden and including the potatoes. We also have fresh crusty bread and home-made butter if you do not wish for potatoes." he listed.

"Then for dessert, still staying to France, Crêpes Suzette with caramelises banana and oranges, flambé style at the table." he said with a smile.

"Mmm it all sounds wonderful. Especially the dessert." She chuckled and walked closer to him, linking her arm with his. "Shall we?" She said with a smile wanting him to escort her to the dining hall.
