The Amulet of Tenebrae

Kendra couldn't see what was going on with all the guards surrounding her. She was getting frustrated and upset. She could hear Rassler screaming and struggling. All she could do was keep calling out to him hoping her voice would help him. Soon Zadicus and his brothers came in to help and were taking down the guards one by one.

"Zadicus...I'm so glad to see you." She was truly thankful he was there to help. Especially considering his history with Rassler. "But I can't just stand by and let this happen!! I have to help somehow!!" Kendra tried to run toward them, but Zadicus held her back. "Let go of me!!" She said trying to pull away from him.

"No You'll get hurt in the middle of it!" said Zadicus, still keeping her back and out of danger. The other brothers stayed close in case of any more guards were to come.

Rassler stood up and spat the chunk of flesh to the ground and the blood as well. He snarled at Vorkalth, Vorkalth held his bleeding wrecked hand and snarled and smoke surrounded him, "YOU WILL DIEEEEEE!!!" he was glowing now and ran at him and once more they were on the ground, Rassler kicked him off and got an arm around his neck,holding him from behind, trying to choke him out. But Vorkalth was NOT letting him get him down easily.

Kendra stopped struggling and just stood there watching. The last time these two fought, Rassler was almost killed. She couldn't just stand by and watch. "Can't you help him?! Isn't that why you're here?!" She said almost yelling at Zadicus.

"He's all hyped up and energised.....you don't get between two powerful demons in a fight." he said to her.

Rassler punched him in the head, and Vor gave it right back. Both snarling and slashing, striking each other hard and heavy. Rassler then got kneed in the stomach and knocked the wind out of him. "GAHHH!" he held his stomach and fell to the ground. Vor panted heavily and spat blood on the ground, "You fucking useless...." he kicked him in the side, "Disgusting...." another kick, "SCUM UNDER MY BOOT!!!" he kicked him once more and Rassler when crashing into a wall.

Kendra pulled her hand away and began to see why Rassler disliked the knights so much. They were essentially useless at the moment. Rassler was putting up a good fight, but it looked like Vorkalth was starting to get the upper hand. With each blow Rassler bled more and more. Kendra couldn't stand seeing him so hurt and in so much pain. She started to shake, both with fear and anger at the fact that there was nothing she could do.

"There must be something I can do..." She whispered to herself, as tears fell from her eyes. "Yes, Kendra. There is a way you can help Rassler. You've had the power to do so all along." A voice said to Kendra in her head. "Huh!? Who said that?!"

"Relax my dear. I am here to help." In her minds eye, Kendra stood face to face with a woman with long flowing hair and a face similar to hers. "Are you...?" The woman nodded. "Yes, I am your ancestor Emily. I have been watching over you and Rassler for some time now." She said. "Rassler cannot defeat Vorklath on his own. He needs your help." Kendra looked confused. "But what can I do?"

Emily smiled gently. "The amulet my child. You have a power. The amulet amplifies that power as well as Rassler's. Use your power to help him and the curse will be lifted." Emily then slowly began to disappear. "Wait! Come back! How do I use the amulet to help him?!" Emily was almost gone but her voice was still heard. "You will know what to do.......when the time is right."

Kendra came back to reality when she heard the screaming again. She looked down at the amulet and saw its faint glow. She then looked at Rassler. "I know what to do..." She took a few steps away from Zadicus and the other knights. "Don't stop me, Zadicus. Rassler needs my help and I'm the only one that can do this."

Kendra closed her eyes to feel the energy of the amulet. It was wild and hot. As she concentrated, she could feel something within her building. An energy like she felt when she had those dreams. The amulet then began to glow bright, surrounding her in a purple beam of light. Her eyes began to glow and she looked to Rassler. "Release..." She said and the light flung toward Rassler giving him the rest of his demon strength that had been held back due to the curse of the amulet. Kendra was able to nullify the effects for a short time.

The energy emitting from the Amulet caused the Knights to jump back in surprise, but it made its course to Rassler and as well givign the King a surprise, "WHAT?!" Rassler blinked and could feel he was healing up, he smirked and looked At Vorkalth, "You're fucked..." He then clotheslined him, and went back, tackling him through the walls of the palace.

Zadicus looked at Kendra, "How are- how?"he was stunned.

The beam of light still surrounded her as the energy from the amulet grew stronger making Kendra's feet lift off the ground. The long flowing dress swirled around her and her hair fell loose. Once the energy was fully released, the glow began to diminish and Kendra slowly floated back down to the ground. She slumped onto the floor exhausted from the surge of power that flowed through her, but she knew that Rassler had all he needed now to defeat Vorkalth once and for all!

The Knight caught her, "You alright?" he asked her. "....DOn't know what you did...but it worked."he scooped her up and followed after Rassler.

Rassler had gotten outside and slammed Vorkalth into the ground and got punching him in the face repeatedly, "DIEEE!!!" he growled at him and then he bit into his throat and ripped it right off, "GGRRAAHH!!!" he snarled and blood splurged out and Vorkalth got choking on his own blood.

TheKnights and Kendra had caught up and found the bloody scene.

"Yes...I'm fine. Just take me to Rassler please." They arrived just in time to see that Rassler had indeed taken Vorkalth down. It was a violent and bloody scene. She looked at Rassler and saw him snarling like a wild animal with blood and flesh in his mouth. She could hear Vorkalth gasping for air and choking on his own blood. He would soon be dead. Kendra was slightly frightened of the Rassler in front of her. He looked menacing. "Rassler...?" She said his name softly and approached cautiously.

Rassler then looked at him, "You'll bother us no more...."he then stomped on his head and made it all basically explode into a bloody chunky mess. He spat on his corpse and looked behind him, "........" then the stone Zadicus had placed on him had cracked and fell off. He then fell to the ground.

"Rassler no!" Kendra lifted her dress a little so she could run to his side. "Rassler..." She touched his chest and could barely feel him breathing. "Zadicus! What's happening to him?" She looked to the knights for answers.

"I gave him a stone that was the sambas the amulet.....to give him an energy boost.....looks like he's overloaded.." he knelt down to look him over, "....His breathing is lessening....."

"Rassler, no..." She touched his face gently. It was covered in scrapes and blood. "You can't leave me now...please stay with me..." She said through tears.

Zadicus sighed got his ear to Rassler's chest, "his heart is slowing down.........I think the lifting of the curse took its toll on him...." he said, ".......The amulet....wait, there may be a way to save him.....its the demon side of him that fading....you need to cleanse him...."

"What do you mean cleanse him? How will that help?" She asked feeling distraught and confused. She looked at Rassler and saw the life slowly draining from him. His face was losing color and his chest was barely moving.

"If you cleanse the demon out of him, he could possibly become human......You gotta do it now or let him die." he said, "We've no time."

"But...I can't." "Kendra my dear, you must. Rassler will understand..." Emily spoke to her again. "Lay your hand upon his heart and close your eyes. I will help you." Kendra listened to Emily and laid her hand on Rassler's chest right over his barely beating heart. She closed her eyes and waited for something to happen. The palm of her hand began to tingle and feel warm. The amulet began to shine lightly. Kendra felt its energy run through her arm and down to her hand. The light began to spread through Rassler's slowly cleansing his soul.

His skin then began changing from the grey skin to a light tan tone and spread over his whole body, leaving behind his tattoos and the red streaks in his hair turned pure black and the facial marks around his eyes vanished as well. The Amulet then dissipated when his whole body was cleansed and now looked completely human.

Kendra soon placed both hands on his chest letting the magic of the amulet work through her. She opened her eyes and saw as his demon features slowly began to disappear before her very eyes. Once the light dimmed, he was healed and was now a human. His tattoos and horns were gone and his hair was fully black now. She looked down when she felt the amulet vibrate and it turned to dust. "It's over...the curse is finally broken..." Kendra sighed with relief. "I just hope it was in time to save Rassler." Her hands remained on his chest squeezing his shirt as she laid her head down on his chest.

The heart was still beating slow but then it got beating faster and he took a gasping breath, "AGGGHHHHH!!" he sat up and panted heavily and coughed, heaving over a little. "What...what....what's going on?" he was confused for a minute.

Kendra immediately pulled back when she heard his heart beating faster and he gasped for air. He sat up and looked around confused. Kendra was just happy he was alive. She was overcome with emotion and hugged him tight. "Rassler! You're alive!"

He looked and smiled seeing Kendra was herself again but paused seeing his hand was not grey, "....What...." he touched his face, feeling his horns were gone and his talons were now blunt and human, ".....................What....happened?"

"You defeated Vorkalth but the power of the amulet overwhelmed you and you were dying. I had to cleanse your demon power so you could live." She explained. "I'm sorry...it was the only way...I couldn't let you die."

"......I'm ...human?" he was dumfounded, ".........." he laid on his back,feeling so tired. "......can we go home now?" he asked in a tired voice.

"Yes, let's go home so you can rest." Kendra stood up slowly feeling tired herself. "Zadicus, can you take us back to the manor?" She wanted to make sure Carter and Ruth were okay too.
