Kaidan & Delilah: Part 2

Lilah bowed her head to Lord Solomon before she went with Kaidan out onto the dance floor. She couldn't help but smile thinking of the last time they danced together. "Do you remember the last time we danced like this?"

He smiled, "On the mission?" he got into a waltz position with her, dancing with the other couples.

She took his hand and followed his lead, "Mhm, when we were pretending to be husband and wife. Soon we will be dancing as husband and wife for real." She said softly so only they could hear.

He smiled, "Soon my love....soon." he kissed her cheek.

They were being watched.....hard not to when there was so many guests. But they were all watching over the new lord and his lady dancing away.

"I can't wait." She said with a smile. Lilah could feel all the eyes on them. She moved closer to him as the music started to slow down even more. "I think everyone is watching us..." She said feeling a bit shy since she was not accustomed to being the center of attention.

"Don't worry about them. It was to be expected. Not everyday a New Lord is anointed." he said.

"Well, they can look all they want because you are mine right now." She leaned in and kissed his lips gently.

He smiled and kissed her again.

After their dance, they went along to get a bite to eat and watch the entertainment provided, fire breathers, circus folk performing acrobatic acts.

As the night went on, she enjoyed all the festivities the gala had to offer. Many clan members came and talked with them and congratulated him. The night finally began to draw to a close. Delilah was getting quite tired. "I've had such a great time. It has been so fun socializing with everyone and getting to meet so many people." She smiled trying to hide her yawn.

Kaidan too was becoming weary and they had decided to call it a night and Solomon escorted them to the gate.

"I'm glad you came tonight Kaidan.......it...has been a pleasure to see you back on your birth grounds." he said to his son.

"Yeah......just...don't do anything to it." he said.

"I don't plan to."

"Thank you for being such a gracious host, Lord Solomon. The gala was wonderful." She bowed her head and shared her thanks as they prepared to leave.

"Please....come if you wish to get away format he stress. The manor and gardens are open to you both." he nodded.

Kaidan nodded back and they went on to the Shadow gate.

"I'm sure we will return soon. The gardens here are so beautiful. My companion Scout will enjoy flying about as well." She smiled and waved goodbye to him as they left. She wrapped both arms around him and rested her head on his shoulder. "That was fun. I rather enjoyed myself." She said.

He smiled, "Surprisingly I did too....I'll need to show the portrait hall in the manor sometime." he smiled.

They arrived back and he sighed, "Ugh........bed for me."

"I look forward to it." She said. Soon they were finally back at the hideout and were going back to their room. "I'll join you shortly. I need to freshen up and get this make up off." She left his side and went to the bathing chambers to have a quick bath.

Kaidan smiled and gave her a peck on the lips and went on to their bedroom first.

Once he arrive dyer undressed out of all the fancy attire and he messed his hair up to get it feeling normal again. "Ohh that feels better...." eh yawned and flopped on the bed to lay back and relax.

Lilah didn't spend too much time in the bath. She quickly washed her body and hair and dropped off the dress to Vashti's work room. She changed back into the clothes she had left there earlier and left to go join Kaidan.

She opened the door and found him relaxing on the bed. She walked in and used the towel she brought with her to dry her hair. Scout was perched in his usual high spot and came down landing on the bed post to greet them both. "Ah, I feel much better now with all that gunk off my face."

Kaidan smiled, "I say I like both, but I much prefer you in a more natural tone." he smiled tiredly at his fiancee'.

Scout gave a small squeaking sound, happy to see them both.

She smiled and walked up to Scout and pet his head. "That may be, but I shutter to think what is in that stuff." She let Scout hop onto her forearm and pet his feathers. "So boy, while you were gone...Kaidan asked me to marry him. Since you are the closest thing I have to my family I am sure he wants your approval. What do you think? Should I marry him?" She chuckled and smiled at the bird.

Scout preened himself, not too worried about the question.

"I would take that as a 'yes'." chuckled Kaidan, "He doesn't seem worried about it."

"He can sense that I am happy, so I think he is fine with it." She smiled and put him back on the bed post to finish preening himself. "If he started screeching then we would have a problem." She chuckled and went over to the dressing table to brush the tangles out of her hair.

Scout flew up to the top of the curtain frame of the bed and got comfortable.

"I'm so tired." sighed Kaidan, "But Its starts for real tomorrow." he realised he was now officially a real vampiric leader.

Lilah looked at his reflection in the mirror behind her while she brushed her hair, "Get some sleep then. I'm sure you will be very busy tomorrow." Admittedly, Lilah was very happy for Kaidan, but she was also concerned that she wouldn't be seeing much of him anymore. He was going to be so busy as the new clan leader.

He peaked to see her expression in the mirror, ".....Is something on your mind?" he asked

"Not really." She said. Lilah stood up from the dressing table and walked over to her side of the bed.
